Service is an integral part of academia and is a crucial component of improvement of university services for both students and faculty. As a doctoral student, I served on several committees covering inter-program issues and curricular initiatives, and lead a student run seminar for doctoral students (during the first year such a seminar was implemented). I aim to continue this track record of service into my future roles as an academic professional.
