Clinical Experience

I was given the opportunity to work as an inpatient registered nurse for three years at Michigan Medicine during my doctoral education.

Working at the bedside during my PhD was an incredibly rewarding experience that will serve as the foundation for my research interests in chronic illness prevention.

It is my belief that nursing research should ultimately aim to improve the practice of nursing, and I hope to remain ever-cognizant of how my research can help both bedside nurses and academia concurrently.

Populations cared for during my clinical experiences included:

  • Peritoneal dialysis

  • Liver disease

  • Gastrointestinal disease

  • Skin and wound care
