Asa B. Smith PhD, RN

Welcome! My name is Asa (he/him), and I am an Assistant Professor at Indiana University School of Nursing. I recently completed a T32 from NINR “Advanced Training in Self-Management Interventions for Serious Chronic Conditions” (NR018407). I received by BSN in 2016 and PhD in 2020, both from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. My PhD was funded by the Rita and Alex Hillman Foundation.

I am a nurse scientist and chronic heart failure symptom science researcher specializing in the complex biopsychosocial relationships underlying pain in heart failure.
